It's always a great feeling when I come back down to South Philly and I see old customers and they miss Fat Joes food. WHAT DO WE THINK? DOES FAT JOES NEED TO MAKE A RETURN TO SP? LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.
Fat Joe's (Breakfast and Lunch) was a burger restaurant and breakfast & brunch restaurant located on Snyder Avenue. Owned by Joe Beren, also known as Fat Joe, the restaurant was a result of his lifelong passion for cooking that stemmed from his family's culinary background. Starting his career in 1997 at his uncle's cafe, Fat Joe continued to refine his skills over the years. In 2001, he gained valuable experience working in a Wildwood Crest deli and later opened Fat Joe's Lunch Box on Sheridan and Oregon. However, after a few years, he felt that his talents needed further improvement and decided to sell the business. After several years of life experiences and inspirations from late-night food network shows, Fat Joes at 3rd and Shunk was finally established with the support of many loyal customers. Known for his "fat kid cooking style," which combined years of eating, watching, and taste testing, Fat Joe enjoyed creating and serving new food items to satisfy his customers' cravings.
Note: Unfortunately, we have recently learned that Fat Joe's (Breakfast and Lunch) has permanently closed its doors.
