That’s a wrap! Thank you to every single person who came out this weekend…the support was just so amazing and everyone was so kind. I loved every second of being part of this community for the past 3 years. I loved getting to know so many people and becoming a part of so many memories. Hick’s was my vision and each of you helped bring it to life ♥️
From me and my crew….THANK YOU!!

I wanted to share some bittersweet news….it is with a sad, yet extremely grateful heart that I let everyone know that this is my last season, Hick’s will be under a new name and new business as of Sept. 20th.
This upcoming weekend will be the final weekend for me under Hick’s, and the new owner will transition and begin her new hours next weekend under her new business shop name.
I am so grateful for the past 3 years, but I feel as though there is someone much better who can put more energy and time in the business. I always received the exact same feedback daily, “you are not open enough” and after 3 years, I came to the realization that just maybe someone could make it so much more than I could, and for that reason I have decided to step away. The name will not be the same, as the name Hick was in memory of my dad, and that holds extreme personal sentiment to me, but the business portion will stay similar, with more to offer and a ton more hours of operation, including a year-round schedule .
I hope I made some great memories for you and your families. And I hope your time at Hick’s will always be remembered as good ones. I kindly ask for no negative comments or feedback, this has been a really emotional time for me. Instead maybe comment your favorite thing you loved most about Hick’s!!
I have always been honest and heartfelt in my posts since the day I opened my doors, which is why I wanted my customers to hear this from me personally.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to every person who became a friendly face, and to every person who always showed kindness. I really will miss each of you!
And to my AMAZING employees throughout the past 3 years, especially the ones who stuck by me…each of you helped make Hick’s a success and I couldn’t have done it without each of you!!!
Remember to keep supporting small businesses. Give a smile instead of a complaint…small business owners are doing their best these days, and they need your support more than ever!
Also, I will reimburse the new owner of all payments made with current Hick’s gift cards for the remainder of the year, so if you still have one don’t worry you can still use them!! I stopped selling them weeks ago, and I’m sorry to everyone that came in to try and purchase one, but I know some people may still be holding on to a few 😊
Thank you again, and most of all…
CHOOSE KINDNESS always😊

Nothing Says Summer In Pennsylvania Like A Trip To Hick’s Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor

Summer days seemed endless as a kid, didn’t they? I spent many of those days with friends, biking around the neighborhood, exploring the woods, and wading in the cool water of nearby creeks. The only thing better than chasing after the ice cream truck was my parents piling us into... The post Noth...

When I opened Hick’s, I envisioned a fun community ice cream shop. I’ve gotten to know so many amazing people these past 3 seasons. Most people know I run this small business alone. Some people tend to forget, that I also am a HUMAN BEING. And the hateful messages I received this past weekend are completely uncalled for.
I have been posting about being closed this past Saturday and Sunday for a family Wedding since I opened back up in April. I posted a personal message on my voicemail, numerous posts on my social media accounts, message on my shops front door and 3 signs posted throughout, I even went as far as to have Google mark me closed both days if someone searched our shop. Yes, I have a family, and sometimes since I run this business on my own, I might need to close when there is an important event happening in my life. I always have, and I always will give proper notice if this needs to happen. It’s completely unnecessary to throw cruel hateful words at people, especially small businesses that put their heart and soul in building something for others to enjoy.
This world already has so much hate…enjoy some ice cream and JUST BE KIND!
