This year we lost a Hinge icon.
Tommy Cawley ambled into the cafe doors approximately 20 years ago and asked “Do you mind if I play the piano here?” I was a little confused and explained that we didn’t have a piano. He smiled and said, “That’s ok. I’ll bring mine.” And he did.
For almost 2 decades Tommy played a variety of show tunes from memory for the cafe customers, often inspiring sing-a-longs and young accompaniment.
Tommy will be missed dearly. Feel free to share a memory in the comments or post a picture to this page.

The Hinge may be gone but it made a lasting impression on many who worked and ate there. I invite all the “Hingers” to post pictures or stories to this FB page and give us an update! Maybe we can turn this page into a giant scrapbook!
I will compile a list of new employee businesses as well and share it to the Hinge friends.

By now many of you have noticed the "FOR SALE" sign on the Hinge building but we are OPEN for business and booking parties through at least June.
The origninal founder must leave the business for family reasons but we are actively looking for a neighborhood-oriented new owner to occupy this unique space and continue the work started here 20 years ago.
This new owner should be versed in construction practices to fully take advantage of the building's almost 6000 square feet. If you know someone who may be interested, direct them to call Simone at 267-242-1746.
