The Tasty

The Tasty is a vegan diner and coffee shop located on S 12th Street in the Passyunk Avenue neighborhood of South Philadelphia. They serve breakfast sandwiches starting at 7AM and a full menu beginning at 10AM every day. In addition, The Tasty occasionally offers special promotions like Iced Coffee Ice Cream Floats for their birthday weekend celebration. **HUGE NEWS**
We are making our own whipped cream in house! You can get a side of it for your pancakes, or waffles! Or you can add it to any drink! It’s so delicious, and we are very stoked about it! Maybe I ate a bowl of it today with a spoon.. maybe I didn’t!

A buttered and grilled Philly muffin topped with tofu scramble, sautéed spinach, and our lemony hollandaise.

Tiramisu pancakes:
A new take on our classic- two fluffy buttermilk pancakes layered with a rich cashew cream made with our house espresso, topped with cocoa powder, chocolate chips, and a small scoop of ice cream. Drizzled with chocolate sauce and served with syrup.

Hi! We will be taking a quick break before we get into the crazy heat of summer. We will be closed June 24th through June 28th. Leading up to that, we would loveeee to see you!! Especially during the week, when it tends to be quieter 💕

We are opening late today, Sunday May 31st at 9 AM. We will also have a limited menu all day as well as limited takeout (no call in orders). We have someone out today unexpectedly, but still wanted to open! We will have tons of donuts as usual, all the coffee, breakfast sandwiches, burritos, scrambles, tot bowls, and lunch sandwiches, etc. No pancakes and waffles today because we are only working with one cook (me 😇). Thank you for understanding!

It’s our 10th birthday on Thursday!!!! We are bringing back some of our favorite specials to make it a fun one! We will be open from 8-4 (two extra hours!!) with both specials all day. Specials are just for our birthday 🎂

The Tasty is turning 10!!! One entire decade of my favorite place on earth. So, we are gonna celebrate ⭐️

🎂Thursday (May 21st) is our actual birthday, so we are having fun all day. We will have specials, tons of baked goods and donuts, and good vibes. We are staying open an extra two hours to make sure we can see as many of you as possible- we will be open from 8 AM to 4 PM!

On Sunday (May 24th) we have a vendor market planned. Some of our favorites will be set up outside starting at 10 AM until ~2 PM. We will be open our regular hours from 8 AM until 2 PM, but it’ll be extra fun and you can shop while you wait for a table or you can just stop by for a coffee and browse!

We have been making fun sandwiches for ourselves (and some special regulars) and everyone is in agreement that tater tots belong on a breakfast sandwich, so here we go..

Our new signature breakfast sandwich is a tofu egg and cheese topped with coconut bacon, arugula and honey mustard! Can be made on a Kaiser roll, or an everything or plain Merzbachers Philly muffin.

Open every week from Wednesday to Sunday, 8 AM to 2 PM. Full menu is available all day now! Weekdays are great for short wait times, including pickup (usually only 15-20 minutes).
