🌶️🌶️LONG HOT PEPPER LATTE & MOCHA🌶️🌶️

This weekend is the Italian Market Festival and we are bringing the heat in a way that all South Philly Italians are familiar with: long hot peppers! Instead of drinking the garbage in a can that’s being given out for free inside the festival (yes we said it), hop over just a block to see us and spice up your latte or mocha. Then drink one of those boozy pineapple drinks and climb that grease pole!!🇮🇹

‼️ MAYDAY ‼️

New month, new things!

1) Al Pastor Bun. Sourdough brioche with marinated pulled pork rolled inside, cojita cheese on top, served with a side of salsa verde. We normally only have the flavored (non-cinnamon) buns Thurs-Sun now but we will also have this one on Tuesday (Cinco de Mayo).

2) New Elegant Coffees!

Ethiopia Bensa Mirado. Mirado is a new washing station for us, but if you’ve been drinking our Ethiopian coffees for a while, you’ll recognize a lot about it. 300 small-holders at high elevation in Bensa, Sidama provide cherry to Asefa Dukamo of the legendary Daye Bensa Coffee Company for processing. As you’d expect, the flavor is amazing! We taste peach, jasmine honey, raspberry, lemon, and nectarine. This one is fantastic both hot and iced (flash-brewed), and it will make a great light roast espresso too!🍑🍋🍯

Colombia Finca El Paraíso Gesha Washed. This is not what you might expect from Diego Samuel Bermudez! If you look at the processing that was done on this coffee (it actually has a low temperature anaerobic fermentation), you might expect big-time funky fruits with a “process-forward” kind of flavor profile. But in fact it is just the opposite: this coffee is gentle, delicate, and elegant. Don’t mistake that for a lack of flavor though! This tastes like the best of the washed geshas we’ve ever offered - think ginger, white tea, lemon blossom, orange juice, and jasmine.💐🍊

Not new, but the sourdough bread has been 10/10 recently. Take home a loaf or enjoy it in the cafe as part of the Turkey Super Sandwich or Avocado Toast.🥪🥑

And finally, it is Blueberry Lavender Latte season! Syrups are housemade, of course. Enjoy!🫐

Special no thank you to the City of Philadelphia as in less than 30 days it will have been 2 full years since we applied for our sidewalk cafe license and we still do not have it and get fined every week for having the tables & chairs out (look at our past posts with photos of the tables & chairs if you want the whole sad, comedic story on this)! Also no thank you for the big increase in BIRT tax and for the removal of the U&O exemption. They seem to be doing their best to crush small business but we’re still here and plan to be for many years to come.

First - ‘tis the season, the Lemon Walnut Iced Latte is back! This is one of our most popular signature lattes we’ve ever done so we bring it back every year when the warmer weather arrives. Housemade lemon syrup, black walnut bitters, espresso, & milk/alt on ice.🍋🧊

We are also happy to announce that all iced lattes - and yes, we mean all (mocha, vanilla, Irish cream, ube plum, cardamom caramel, cinnamon toast crunch, lemon walnut, London fog, chai, and even MATCHA), are now 25 cents cheaper than they used to be!💰💰

Holiday Hours - We are open normal hours every day this holiday weekend. That means 7:30am-4pm Mon-Sat, 7:30am-3pm Sun. If it is absolutely pouring rain Sunday afternoon we might shut things down an hour early.🐰

🐣 Easter Specials!🐣

New Black Label series coffee now available on pourover as well as in retail bags: Colombia Los Patios Bright Yellow Co-Ferment!

Bright Yellow is a co-ferment with peach concentrate as well as ’s own proprietary solution. In the cup, there is of course an obvious sweet, juicy peach note but there’s a lot more going on too (which is generally not the case with co-ferments), we taste a beautiful coconut and pineapple combination which screams piña colada. Enjoy!🍑🍍🥥

Peeps Bronuts™️ - sourdough baked brioche donuts with marshmallow cream filling, marshmallow frosting, topped with sanding sugar. 🍩

Carrot Cake Bun - sourdough brioche with spiced carrot walnut filling rolled inside, topped with cream cheese frosting and crushed walnuts. 🥕

💜 UBE PLUM LATTE 💜

Back for the third consecutive year, this beautiful beverage features housemade ube syrup, plum bitters, espresso, and milk/alt on ice. Also available hot. With alt milks this drink is vegan too! Ube has become so trendy that Starbucks has gotten in on the game too but apparently theirs is...not great. You know we wouldn’t be offering it if it weren’t great!

We also have a new Irish Cream Latte for St. Patrick’s Day which features a housemade vanilla-almond-chocolate syrup. 🇮🇪🍀

⚡️NEW COFFEES⚡️

Ecuador Finca Arashi F1 Hybrid Natural. This is Vibrant’s first ever F1 hybrid! This coffee would be noteworthy anyway even if it were a more “normal” variety as it is a high elevation natural from Loja, which always produces fantastic coffees. F1 hybrids are notable because they tend to have significantly higher production than non-hybrids, while maintaining high cup quality and disease resistance. This particular lot from Abel Salinas bursts with bright red fruit flavors such as raspberry, cherry, pomegranate, and Beaujolais wine.🍒🍷

Peru Cajamarca Tabaconas Medium Roast. This is the perfect coffee for those of you who don’t want the bitterness of darker roasts but also don’t want a particularly fruit-forward flavor profile. We taste notes of toffee, nougat, butterscotch, and dried fruit. Honestly, what more could you ask for from a medium roast?

Rwanda Kanzu Lot 1317. Protected within the Nyungwe national forest, Kanzu benefits from a misty microclimate, contributing to its exceptional flavors of lime, plum, raspberry, and a delightful hint of black tea in the finish.🍋‍🟩

🥪 Sandwich Reminder 🥪

Reminder that in addition to our egg & cheese and ham, egg, & cheese breakfast sandwiches, we now have our new Turkey Super Sandwich available! 🍒🍒 Cherry Hazelnut Latte 🍒🍒

Here’s what you can look forward to this week:

Two new coffees from La Pradera: a Gesha and a Pink Bourbon!

The only thing that could be better than a Pink Bourbon from one of our favorite farms in Huila is a Gesha, and here it is! We’re having a hard time putting into words how delicious this coffee is. This may sound a little strange but it almost tastes like cucumber water that has been sweetened with other fruits and flowers. In particular, we taste mango, peach, honeydew, ginger, and tulip. Honestly, it’s everything we look for in a coffee: clean, bright, sweet, and full of nuance. We hope you enjoy this incredibly special coffee as much as we do!🥭🌷

The Pink Bourbon was one of our top favorites last year so we are thrilled to have it back on the menu. These washed Pink Bourbons from Huila are simply bursting with character, particularly with big acidity and big sweetness, often reminding us of pink lemonade. In this beautiful lot we taste pomegranate, red currant, grapefruit, and hibiscus.🌺

On the pastry front, we have Fruity Pebbles Bronuts™️ and Pear Almond Butterscotch Buns!

We signed the lease on 1001 S 10th St, did a bunch of work to make the place presentable, leaned perhaps a bit too hard into coffee flights and tasting notes, had cookie butter cheesecake available by the slice, and wrote slightly ridiculous things on our sidewalk sign every day.
