A Fond Farewell from Campbell’s Place of Chestnut Hill
After more than 17 years of memories, meals, and moments shared, the time has come for us to close our doors.
Campbell’s has been more than just a restaurant, it has been a gathering place, a second home, and a living scrapbook of life in Chestnut Hill for over 50 years.
We have had the immense privilege of serving this community: from family brunch to anniversary dinners, quiet cocktail catch-ups to raucous celebrations. We’ve watched neighbors grow up at these tables, and many of you have become part of our extended family.
This decision was not made lightly. It comes with a heavy heart, but also with deep gratitude for the journey we’ve shared. We are proud of what Campbell’s Place has stood for. Good food made with love, service with heart, and a space where everyone felt welcome.
To our beloved staff, both past and present: thank you for the countless hours, the warmth you brought to each shift, and the pride you took in every plate and every guest. To our loyal customers: thank you for letting us be a part of your lives. Your laughter, your stories, your presence—these walls will remember.
Though the doors may close, the spirit of Campbell’s Place will always live on in the memories we created together. From our family to yours, thank you for the beautiful years.

Campbells Place is a gem of an American restaurant located in the heart of Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia. The tavern has been serving the community for almost four decades and has become a neighborhood gathering spot known as "Chestnut Hill's Cheers". The lively and unpretentious atmosphere makes it an ideal place to enjoy affordable New American fare along with an extensive selection of fine draught beers and wines.
The cozy booths, 100-year-old bar, and upstairs dining room provide a comfortable setting to enjoy the delicious food made with the freshest local ingredients. The new owners, Vanessa Noonan Mullen and her husband Rob Mullen, have maintained Campbell's charming, timeless atmosphere while adding their own touch to the menu. Rob's vision for the kitchen includes a focus on high-quality food made with seasonal ingredients sourced from local and regional farmers and suppliers.
Rob Mullen, who is also the Executive Chef of Campbell's Place, is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. He has worked for Grand Hyatt in Manhattan and Beaver Creek, CO. Currently owning his own catering company that operates in music venues such as Tweeter, Wachovia and Tower Theatre and their visiting artists.
Overall, Campbell's Place is a must-visit American restaurant that offers great food, drinks, and service in a warm and welcoming environment.
