Just because you get your order fast doesn’t mean we made it fast.
Before you hit the order button, our team spent hours simmering beans, marinating meats, hand-pressing pupusas, mixing churro dough, making salsas, pickling veggies, and prepping everything for the day.
Everything at El Merkury is made in-house by our team and served fresh (fun fact: we don’t even have a freezer).
🌮 Pictured: our taquitos served fast to you but made from scratch in advance.

What people say
ElMerkury is a must-visit local business in Philadelphia for anyone who loves Central American street food. The menu is inspired by Mayan food staples, which include corn, beans, chillis and chocolate. These ingredients are used to create an authentic experience of Central American cuisine that is both delicious and unique.
What sets ElMerkury apart from other restaurants is their commitment to representing under-represented countries through food. They want to show the awesomeness of Central America that is often overshadowed by negative news stories. This dedication to showcasing the best of Central America shines through in every dish they serve.
Even before their brick and mortar location opened, ElMerkury was already delivering their mouth-watering menu items via Uber Eats and Grubhub. This shows their dedication to providing an on-demand experience for customers who crave their delicious food.
Overall, ElMerkury is a dream project come true for lovers of Central American street food. Their commitment to authenticity and representation makes them a standout local business in Philadelphia that should not be missed.
