From all of us at Gallo’s Seafood, we want to send our heartfelt respect and well wishes to the Kelly’s Seafood family as they close their doors after more than 60 years.
There’s something special about a neighborhood restaurant that lasts for generations. It becomes more than a place to eat. It becomes part of the community, part of family traditions, and part of people’s memories.
As fellow restaurant owners, we also understand just how difficult this business has become. The rising cost of food, labor, utilities and simply keeping the doors open has made an already challenging industry even harder.
There has always been a special camaraderie among neighborhood restaurants. We may have served some of the same customers and shared the same industry, but above all, we share a respect for what it takes to do this day after day, year after year. Sixty-plus years in this business is an incredible accomplishment and one that deserves to be recognized.
Congratulations to the Kelly’s family on an incredible 60+ year run. You’ve earned the respect of your fellow restaurateurs and your community. Wishing you all nothing but the best in whatever comes next.

Happy Retirement, Steve. We will surely miss the deli, but are very happy for you.
After many years of serving the Northeast Philadelphia community, Steve Stein is retiring.
What started as a family tradition became a place where generations of customers gathered for great food, friendly faces, and memories that will last a lifetime. Steve's dedication, hard work, and commitment to quality helped make Steve Stein's Famous Deli a true neighborhood landmark.
Our last day for Steve Stein's Famous Deli will be Sunday, August 23rd. If you've known Steve over the years, be sure to stop by, say hello, and wish him a happy retirement.
