Today we made yuanxiao together to celebrate the Lantern Festival a little early since we are closed tomorrow. 🏮
The Lantern Festival is a traditional Chinese festival on the 15th day of the Lunar New Year. Traditionally, yuanxiao are sweet glutinous rice balls that symbolize family reunion, harmony, and happiness. At our restaurant, we made our own version with meat filling.
The chef’s yuanxiao are perfectly round, while mine… have all kinds of interesting shapes 😆 But they were made with love!
Wishing everyone a happy Lantern Festival, full of warmth, reunion, and sweetness ❤️
