This Meet the Staff Monday we’re introducing you to Tabitha! 🌟
Tabitha started working at New Deck in August 2025. She’s a Scorpio (born on Halloween🎃) from Vineland, NJ. South Jersey girrrllll! She graduated from UPenn Nursing School and hopes to become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner one day! 👩⚕️
When Tabitha’s not working you can find her at the gym, cooking, playing tennis, playing ukulele, singing showtunes, and going to concerts. She loves hanging out with friends, trying new restaurants, traveling, and playing scrabble with her mommom! 🎶🎾

Meet the Staff Monday is doing a refresher for a familiar face: our guy Christy! Christy’s been at New Deck Tavern for 3 years!
Christy is from County Tyrone, Ireland. 🇮🇪 He’s studying Product Design at Drexel. His hobbies include playing rugby, Gaelic football, and going to the gym.
Favorite New Deck meal: Buttermilk chicken sandwich, no pickles or tomatoes though! 🥪
Favorite New Deck drink: Jameson and Coke with lime🥃🍋🟩
When he’s not working you can find him hanging out with friends and watching sports. His favorite thing about working here? “It’s like my family away from home at New Deck, I love my coworkers.” 🫶
He says “I love getting to know new people here and the atmosphere when it’s busy or if there’s a big game on.” ☘️

Meet the Staff Mondays are back, and today we’re introducing our girl Peyton! Peyton is from Mechanicsburg, PA. She joined the New Deck team in August 2025.
She graduated from Oregon State with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. She’s a Ta**us with a birthday coming up soon! (May 8th👀)

When she’s not at New Deck, she’s probably working at her other job—Peyton’s always on the grind 💪 Outside of work, she loves to read and spend time with her fiancé and their 3 dogs! 🐶 She loves traveling and exploring Philly since she just moved here last August.
Her favorite thing about working at New Deck? “The people, it makes the job so fun!” 🫶

Tomorrow’s the big day…our 40th birthday, celebrating four decades on Sansom Street. This , we’re feeling especially grateful for the original crew that started it all: Mike and Bernadette Doyle, and Pete Moore.
New Deck Tavern has brought so many people together. It’s always been more than a bar or restaurant, it’s a place where regulars become family, and where lifelong friendships are made behind and across the bar. To get to Sansom Street in Philadelphia, you can take public transportation by taking the Market Frankford Line or the Trolley Lines to 34th Street Station. From there, walk south towards Sansom Street.
If driving, take I-76 E until Exit 346A toward South Street. Turn left onto South St and continue straight for about 1 mile until you reach Sansom street. There are several parking lots in the area that are pay-to-park.
Once you arrive on Sansom Street, look for the establishment with Irish decor and a pub atmosphere. It will have a large outdoor seating area and a menu featuring traditional Irish cuisine.
