When I decided to put the call out to find a buyer for Zsaβs, it was driven by two main motivations. One, to keep Zsaβs open as an anchor for our neighborhood, and provide the canvas for the right person to embrace what it is, while simultaneously making it their own. And two, on a more personal note, to keep Zsaβs open so that I would finally have my own opportunity to walk to the shop after dinner, and wait in line with neighbors, friends, and loved ones under the bright lights of a long Summer evening.
Today, Iβm beyond excited and so incredibly proud to introduce you to Liz Yee, the new owner of Zsaβs Ice Cream!
For years, as a pastry chef, Liz has been the steady heartbeat of two other well-known Mt. Airy small businesses, just a stroll up the street from the scoop shop. If youβve ever attended an event featuring food by , or more recently indulged in an incredible dessert .restaurant, youβve already experienced Lizβs creations. And when you come to Zsaβs in a very short while, youβll now get to enjoy her ice cream!
Liz has the work ethic, confidence, creativity, and calm manner that it takes to oversee a small business. I cannot wait to see this new chapter unfold!
Thank you for all the support that has truly been the fire that allowed Zsaβs to evolve to where it is today. I know that youβll come out and show Liz and her team β both familiar and new faces - the same love youβve given Team Scoop City and myself for over 7 years.
As for me, this neighborhood and community is my home. And ice cream and small business will forever be on my brain, and in my heart and soul. I look forward to being in line with all of you before too long! π
