We’ve extended FREQUENCY through September!

The 20/20 Photo Festival kicks off on Thursday, September 10th until September 19th. We’ve extended our exhibition with the center for creative works to coincide with this wonderful celebration of art.

On Thursday (9/10) from 4pm-6pm you can join local photographer Mike Klusek of Philly PhotoLeague on a guided photo walk through Fishtown starting at our sister bar Johnny Brenda's Fishtown and ending at the Crane Arts building. We’ll be throwing an after party from 6pm-9pm with music by DJ ON MARS and the beautiful work of so many unique artists displayed for all to see.

FREQUENCY is coming to The International this Thursday and here’s everything you need to know…

THE EXHIBITION:
A Center for Creative Works Group Exhibition • August 2026

OPENING RECEPTION:
Thursday, August 6, 2026 | 6–8pm
1624 N Front Street, Philadelphia

MUSIC: DJ ON MARS
CURATED BY: Rowynn
EXHIBITION COORDINATORS from center for creative works: Pearl Corry, Vera Flor, Falon Weaver, Ashlyn Warner

ARTISTS:
Billy Bolds, Tim Quinn, Karlee Salamone, Kelly Brown, Jenny Cox, Jason McGonigle, Clyde Henry, Doug Tan, Christopher Arter, Brandon Spicer-Crawley, Ania Lattie

CURATORIAL STATEMENT:
Frequency is an exhibition rooted in the idea that perception itself is a creative act. The works gathered here — by artists from the Center for Creative Works — emerge from minds that process the world with particular intensity: minds attuned to pattern, repetition, rhythm, and the layered texture of experience. What might register as noise to some becomes signal. What might feel like overstimulation becomes composition.

The title draws deliberately from the language of sound and music, reflecting the exhibition’s home in a live music venue, but its meaning extends further. Frequency describes the rate at which something occurs, the wavelength on which something travels, the invisible structure underlying all sensation. These works operate on that register. They are dense, alive, internally ordered — built from systems of mark, color, and material that reveal their own logic the longer you look.

This is not an exhibition about difficulty or limitation. It is an exhibition about a particular kind of attention — one that finds connection, meaning, and beauty in the frequencies most people pass through without noticing.
